Reds Pitcher helps serve lunch in Camp Washington!
Reds pitcher, Fernando Cruz, stopped by Camp Washington this summer.
Cruz was here to help serve our community lunch and to film a local news segment showcasing last mile food rescue’s partnership with the reds. Last mile is an organization that transports leftover food from businesses and events, such as reds games, to commmunity organziations that feed the hungry. Washington UCC receives multiple donations from last mile each month. These food donations are used as a part of our community lunch. This partnership reduces food waste by feeding the hungry.
During his visit Cruz also met with kids in our summer program and gave them each an autographed shirt. We are so thankful to have had this opportunity.
