Outreach Coordinator - Americorps VISTA

AmeriCorps VISTAs are Volunteers in Service to America! AmeriCorps VISTAs dedicate a year of their lives to fighting poverty in America. while gaining valuable work experience. They work on indirect, capacity building initiatives in their community.
As Washington United Church of Christ’s VISTA member, you will recruit and nurture volunteers for each program by creating training materials and essential volunteer documents. You will fuel community collaboration, forging deeper connections with community groups, schools, universities, and other churches. You will also participate in grant writing and research to fund our outreach programs. Identifying individual donors, you will write letters of appeal and steward existing funders through thank-you letters. Finally, you will create a social media presence and expand our communications network, utilizing our existing newsletter and website. Training in professional volunteer management and grant writing will be provided to you as you navigate this role.
Summer Program Staff
Washington UCC is recruiting for Summer Program Staff to work with children from Cincinnati's urban core in an enrichment program. Staff will prepare meals, lead arts & crafts, recreation, reading and attend field trips with the children and volunteers. Program runs from June 2 through July 25, with a vacation week for July 4. This is a great opportunity for rising seniors or high school graduates and young adults. Average 23 hours per week (Sun-Thurs) for $12 per hour.
